Students learn basic anatomy and will begin to develop an understanding of the way a figure inhabits space; thus able to successfully reproduce this space in two dimensions. The goal of the course is to learn academic, realistic representation of the figure: Emphasis will be on accurately rendering the figure on the page in proper proportion. Students work up to developing a personal style within the confines of academic figurative art.
I like the aesthetics and use of materials in this piece. It looks very much like a print and the marks or designs of the lines give the image texture. It also seems very futuristic, perhaps from all the clean, white negative space.
Nice composition and use of medium. Layering is nice as is the use of line. Nice use of negative space in the lower corner contrasted by the scroll work in the opposite corner.
I like the use of whitespace in the lower left hand corner, it balances well with the mixture of rectangular shapes and soft lines. The color is nice and not overpowering.
The way you took on this collage project wonderful. I love the sketchy figures at the bottom next your self portrait. The abstract imagine at the top also very very well.
You have successfully created a visual texture that is separate from the actual textures of your paper and hand drawn marks. This has been achieved by the layering of your composition. The effect is also successful because of your choice to leave the lower left hand corner blank and untouched. Had you filled this space, your image would have been a collage of textures and images. I like that the viewer's eye is drawn throughout the entire piece in a fluid motion.
I love the composition of your piece and all the different textures you achieved by using different collage methods. I also like your use of negative space. I think it adds to your composition.
I love this piece. It's subtle and bold at the same time. The subtle use of the figures looks great and they contrast really well with the graphic use of negative space. The shapes and values at the top right corner merge seamlessly and look amazing. The piece is cohesive, strong and aesthetically pleasing.
I don't know how you did it, but you gave your piece great atmosphere. It makes me think that I am looking into a fog, almost like part of a story. I can definitely recognize your style (in comparison to project 1). And again, your use of positive and negative space help to draw the eye in many directions towards the many layers you have incorporated. I could argue that your rings in the left corner could be skinnier or colored because it seems bold for the rest of your detailed pen work. But it definitely doesn't detract and the piece is beautiful as it is.
I like your piece I think you did a good job on the atmosphere it looks computer generated. It is hard for me to find anything I would fix soo good job
I really liked the design element in this collage. Your transfer technique was done really well. You used the material and techniques really well and the negative space highlights the collage a strong visual piece.

ReplyDeleteI love the use of line work in this . The over laying of dark paper really adds something to this.
