  1. I like the detail and brush marks of this piece. The high lights in the hair are very nicely done.

  2. I really like the graphic quality of the fabric and pillow. Does a good job of giving fabric dimension. Good foreshortening and variation of color in the hair makes it very believable.

  4. I love your textile design in this piece, and it seems to come through in all of your pieces (self portrait with the hair, and the master/copy with the raven and the repeated foot pattern). I like the geometric feel to the figure, from the oval shaped hips, curves in the ribs, pyramid shape at the breast, to the triangular shape of the nose. These shapes work well with each other and are consistent in the piece. Well done in watercolor too!

  5. I like the composition of your piece. And you were very successful with the foreshortening. I also like the graphic quality of this piece. The patterned pillows really push that feel.

  6. I always enjoy looking at how you use color and pattern. I thought that your composition was very successful and I really liked the layering you did with watercolor. I like that all of your shadows seem to take on a unique shape, especially in the face.

  7. I love your color choice and choice of medium you used. I know you are trying to get away from your "Lisa Frank" choice of colors, but I love them! The only thing I would suggest is more darker values in the body as well as more light values in the body right now she looks a little washed out.

  10. I love how you stylized her face. It's very subtle and simple but strong and compelling at the same time. The most successful part of your piece, as everyone else has mentioned, is definitely the pillows. The vibrant colors and graphic nature both make those parts stand out so well. I would love to see you take the style in the pillows and combine them with the style in the face.

  11. I absolutely love how this whole thing was make in watercolor. The patterns look incredible and give an amazing visual effect. The gray scaled figure makes the figure seem like a statue. The individual strokes of the hair and highlights looks very life like.

  12. I am still in love with this piece! The colours are bold and fantastic in the background, and dull and muted in the figure, and I think that adds a nice contrast in saturation. The pillows are rendered really nicely for an iconic pop art effect that keeps the composition really energetic. And the detail on her hair is amazing. Really fantastic job on this piece!
