Students learn basic anatomy and will begin to develop an understanding of the way a figure inhabits space; thus able to successfully reproduce this space in two dimensions. The goal of the course is to learn academic, realistic representation of the figure: Emphasis will be on accurately rendering the figure on the page in proper proportion. Students work up to developing a personal style within the confines of academic figurative art.
I love the detail and colors used in the background, as well as the vivid pinks and yellows in the figure. I really like how there is green in the background, and how that green (or the light) is reflected on the figure.
I think that the bright colors that you used in the body work well because they are similar to the luminosity of your background. Furthermore, because you used the same colors (to varying degrees) in the background, she seem to belong in the space you have created for her.
I really like the colors in your piece, they are very vibrant. I also like what you did with the background. The space that you put the model in creates a narrative for me, like there's a story behind this piece.
Great use of color! I really like the use of reds and golds; it's like her skin is reflecting candle light. It is very reminiscent of the Titanic painting.
I love how realistic you are in your art work. I also remember that you had mentioned that you are color blind, however the super saturation of colors here works really well and your background is amazing. Your painting reminds me the "titanic" picture.
Your perception of form really shows in this piece. The proportions and shapes look great. I love your colors throughout the body. Also, the background shows a lot of work and detail. Overall, the piece is pleasing and done very well.
This piece is really an eyecatcher. The vibrant pinks and yellows in her skin are really nice in contrast with the dark purples behind her. The highlights are subtle, but they really help the figure retain some three dimensionality. The detail in the background is also worth applauding.
I love this piece so much! I love that you made her surrounding look like the titantic! very clever idea, and provides your piece with alittle humor. beautifully done as usual, I love your realism as well in this piece and througout the semester
I like the pinks, greens and blues that are on the figure. The detail of the space behind her is very nice as well.
