LONG-FORMAT FIGURE STUDY

  1. I really like what you did to the background. It removes the figure from the painting room into a dimly lit bedroom, or more aesthetically pleasing set up. The highlights in the hair are very effective

  2. The paint strokes on this work really well. I really like how you provided texture to the pillows. The sky is very nicely done and I love how you went from dark to light.

  3. The piece feel very illustrative and stylized. The exaggerated hip of the figure may not have been purposeful but gives the figure an appealing fluid motion. the somber color scheme works well to set a mysterious mood.

  4. I like your warm color palette and the atmospheric perspective created in the background. Your composition works well with the smooth movement and curves of line across the whole image.

  5. Your figure has a wonderful curvilinear quality about it. The rise and fall of her body compliments the curving/flowing texture in the background.

  6. I like the feel of your piece. The muted colors all work really well together. I also enjoy the texture you have in the background. And the smooth texture on the model is also really nice.

  7. Great job, I think every part of this composition complements each other. The feeling is very mellow and peaceful. I don't know if you did this intentionally, but I really enjoy how the curves in the trellis match the curves and "hills" of the pillows and her body. I like how everything has a purpose in your piece. The shading in her body is nice, some more detail in her face could brighten her up.

  8. I like the color palate you worked with it is very calming and serene. To me it also looks a little more abstract in that is not super realistic but more stylized. The only thing I am unsure about is why you chose to put the green piece of furniture in the background so centralized. Is there a reason for this?

  12. The figure looks very graphic which I enjoy a lot. The work on the background also looks great! I also really like the use of a square ground and how you placed the figure in the middle. The composition is just great. A single figure placed on top of three pillows with something coming out in the middle. It creates a sense of balance and unity in your piece.

  13. The open atmosphere of the background gives a lot of attention towards the figure and objects. The grey like colors give a sort of serene mood.
