  1. The brush work on this is very nice. I like how dark the background is a well.

  2. The brush stokes look dappled and expressive here, although the hair seems oddly stiff and some of the shading looks off. Try not to use shadow as a way to trace the outlines of shapes.

  3. I _love_ how you incorporated the background with the foreground in this piece! I also really like the vividness of the background/foreground colors against the black. This piece definitely looks best in person, rather than represented in the photo. Nice use of textures in the body with the brushstrokes, as they are consistent throughout the image. The hair could use some more highlights for depth.

  4. I really enjoy the color layering that I can see happening in the flesh of the figure. I also feel that the expressive brush strokes contrast beautifully with the peacefulness of the figure. Whereas the figure is still and not moving, the colors the motion of the textures you created with the paint give off a sense of hidden energy.

  5. I love the texture of your piece. The brush strokes are really nice and expressive. I also think that the face is very successful. I would just suggest adding more highlights to the skin.

  6. I really liked how you painted on a black background. It makes the highlighting tones in her flesh pop off the page. It really enhances the stippling texture that you employed in your composition. I really like how the fabric steadies your figure while also making her look like she is floating.

  7. I liked your use of stippling and the rough edges of your figure. A unique but effective style.

  8. Watching you create this piece was very fun. Your short blotchy brush stroke look very unique and stylistic. The shadows on the models body look very realistic and were done very well. I like your background full of different jewel tone fabrics it works really well with your black background.

  9. This is one of my favorite pieces. I love the color palette you used and mottled shadowing works well. Very nice.

  10. I love the shadows in the top left leg. I would love to see that throughout the rest of your piece. The bottom left leg and the arm look a bit off. Other than that, the piece as a whole looks nice. Good proportions and use of color.

  11. The use the dark background holds well with depicting the figure. Everything is very rough. Incorporating the blue colors into the cloth gives a water element to the cave like atmosphere.

  12. The contrast on this is lovely! I really enjoy the composition on this one and what you've done with the colours. The anatomy of her shoulders feels a little wonky and I am not so sure her hips were so wide. I would like to see a full figure though, as the framing on this feels accidental.
