  1. The color on this piece is very successfully done. The detail in her foot and her hands is very nicely done.

  2. The colors are a mot mat. there might be too much shine on her legs ad her perspective could use a little work. Overall the tonal range is good, there are some warms, though it is mostly cool.

  3. I really like your brushstrokes in this piece! The crosshatching is also an interesting element that you added and reminds me of your self portrait. I feel that your color palette works, and I can see the range in color from warm to cool. I would like to see more crosshatching, maybe in the background of the piece, to tie it to the bottom where there is crosshatching there.

  4. You did quite well with the foreshortening at this angle. What stands out to most to me is your depiction of her foot. The shading/highlighting is such that the sole of her foot seems to blend into her ankle. This makes her foot appear to be a entirely different angle than it should be.

  5. I like the texture of your piece, and your color choices are really nice. I would just suggest adding more light highlights, so the model really pops and stands out from the pillows.

  6. Really great use of warm and cool colors. I like the texture that you were able to put into your pillow and watery reflection. Her left foot is a little strangely positioned but the her positioning on the page works well.

  7. I really enjoy your color choice in the piece and the values are also very well done. Everything is very detailed from the models body to the pillows, it is amazing. The only thing I would like to see something in the background, to me it seems a little blank, but maybe that just a personal preference.

  8. I really like the position of the model in your perspective, you chose a challenging viewpoint and I think made the proportions very believable.

  9. I like the point of view you chose, it is very dynamic. I think my favorite part is actually the bottom where it looks like the paint ran, it adds to the feel of the piece.

  10. I like your color palette and your shading and highlights work well. I would suggest checking proportions, they seem a bit off, but otherwise nice job.

  11. I love the brush strokes used. What I'm really intrigued by is how you make the small wrinkles and folds of the pillow, it looks really cloth like. The vertical and horizontal strokes under the whole figure and pillows creates the illusion of water and reflection. Would've loved to see the completed painting.

  12. I love the colour scheme on this piece. The colours used here are very muted and muddy, and I feel like this piece stands out more because of this. I'm a little distracted by her anatomy in her right arm placement, her shoulder blade seems to be coming down rather far. Also, the detail on the pillow is really great.

  13. great job to start with, I think the background needs more relation to the body to demonstrate she belongs to it.
